Splatter screen vs grease splatter guard — same thing?
I see “splatter screen” and “grease guard” used interchangeably online. Are they basically the same or is there a real difference in design/performance? Trying to pick one that actually stops most of the mess.

They’re usually the same product just different marketing names. The key differences come down to mesh size, frame strength, and handle quality. Tighter mesh stops finer mist but can block steam more. I went with this balanced one https://www.amazon.com/splatter-screen-for-frying-pan/dp/B0DSWPHZ6K?tag=contractorhub-20 fine enough to catch almost all splatter from frying chicken or pork chops, but loose enough that food doesn’t steam itself. Frame is thick stainless, handle stays cool-ish, and it fits multiple pan sizes in my kitchen. Makes a noticeable difference in cleanup time.
